
Behind the Scenes Never Tasted so Good: A Day of Flavor, Photography, and Teamwork
There’s something special about gathering around a table full of fresh ingredients, expert hands at work, and the aroma of ostrich sizzling just steps away. Our recent photo shoot was more than just a chance to capture beautiful images for Alpha Roost Farms—it was a day of creativity, collaboration, and yes, plenty of taste-testing.
The shoot took place at the breathtaking Shelby Manor at Arcadia Farm, where the natural light and elegant setting created the perfect backdrop. Chef Tiffany guided the culinary vision with her skill and artistry, while Jerry Houck, General Manager of Shelby Manor, brought his keen eye for detail to every plate. Our Creative Director documented it all, capturing the care and craft behind each dish.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Alpha Roost team worked behind the scenes—setting up equipment, adjusting lighting, moving props, and keeping the flow of the day running smoothly. Every role mattered, and every person helped bring the vision to life.
“What made this day so meaningful was how everyone played a part,” said co-owner Morgan Hayes, PhD. “From Chef Tiffany’s expertise to Jerry’s plating, from our Creative Director’s lens to our team’s tireless support behind the scenes—it all came together beautifully. This was a true example of what’s possible when care and collaboration guide the process.”
Of course, the best part? Sampling everything we created. Each dish was not only picture-perfect but also a delicious reminder of the versatility and flavor ostrich brings to the table.
We left with full stomachs, beautiful photography, and a renewed excitement for sharing Alpha Roost with the world.
